Is Tumblr the Right Blogging Platform for You?
This post originally appeared on Service Magic’s blog Pro Connection. See our weekly blog posts there every Thursday! ——— Tumblr is one of the newest and most exciting blogging platforms on the block. Today we’re going to outline the top three reasons why Tumblr may just be your gateway into a successful business blog. 1. There is no easier way to blog than on Tumblr Tumblr makes it so painless and easy to sign up you’ll be amazed. Registration takes less than 30 seconds and the blogging format is easy as cake. Broken down into a few basic options (text post, upload an image, link, quote, audio, or video) there’s no messy formatting or HTML you’ll need to deal with. Easy to use, easy to understand, and easy to get started! 2. A community like no other Tumblr has really established itself as an improved blogging experience because of it’s strong focus on community. A great example of this is that you can “follow” blogs, just like you’d follow someone on Twitter. You can “like” their posts, reply, or easily reblog (which means to re-post their content on your blog). Unlike sites like WordPress that take you to a boring and complex blog editor upon logging, Tumblr shows you all the blogs you follow, just like your Twitter stream. Tumblr is a fantastic way to build up a community of followers… something that’s much easier to do when you have the opportunity to really interact and engage. 3. Show us something interesting Tumblr has a strong emphasis on media-based posts, which encourages its users to create posts that revolve around interesting and captivating content. Instead of long, lengthy, and often difficult to write blog posts, the pressure is off of you with Tumblr. Go ahead, post a photo and a caption. It’s easy, and it’s exactly what you should be doing on Tumblr. Now, isn’t that easier than writing a 500-word blog post? Have any of you explored Tumblr yet?
