Postling’s Friday Finds — April 1, 2011
Every Friday the Postling team brings you the things we loved from the past week. From music and movies, to food and the world at large, we’ll put it all here.
Excuse me, Mr. President… Do You Have a Computer?
In a recent interview, a reporter asked President Obama if he had an iPad… and then asked if he had his own computer. What followed was Obama quipping that he’s the President of the United States, and then he jokingly asked audience members if he could borrow theirs. Jokes Mr. President, you’ve got jokes.
How Does Google Know What You’re Going to Search?
Well, obviously it’s powered by a single man… a genius “Autocompleter” if you will. Google tossed up a funny video on YouTube that features an interview with the man himself, and just what it takes to be able to predict every single thing that every single person searches every single day in Google. Well played.
The Origins of Keyboard Cat
Thanks to YouTube’s April Fools Joke, YouTube 1911, we’re learning all sorts of things about the best viral videos from 100 years ago. One such lesson? Keyboard cat may not have been as original as we all thought. And so, we present you with “Flugelhorn Feline”.
Friday’s Musical Find
In honor of April Fool’s Day, we’re busting out an oldie but a goodie. No real explanation needed here… enjoy Aretha Franklin’s “Chain of Fools”.
