Using Social Media, Emails and Blogs Together for Maximum Marketing Impact

Successful marketing is all about putting your solutions in front of the right people on a consistent basis. The more you get the word out about your unique services and products, the more likely that people will think of you when it’s time to buy.

You can use social media in conjunction with your blog and email marketing list in order to reach your prospects consistently and effectively. It’s important to have multiple points of contact with your prospects for a few different reasons.

  • Your prospects are busy! Even if you’re active on Twitter or consistently send out email newsletters, your prospects may not always have time to read your updates or your message. By using all three methods of marketing, you have a greater chance of capturing their attention.
  • Your prospects have different preferences! Some may be more active on Facebook and enjoy connecting with you there, and some may prefer to get updates through a blog. If you’re using multiple touch points, you will reach more people.

By developing a system for marketing that includes social media, email marketing and blog updates you can have the greatest impact on your target market. Here are three simple steps to integrate the three tools together.

1. Start with great blog content.

Your blog content not only connects with your audience but it also gives you source material for your social media updates and your email marketing messages. Your blog should have regular updates and quality content. You can plan out several months of topics that display your knowledge, your expertise and your unique value to your potential customers. Highlight your social media icons in your sidebar to encourage your readers to connect with you on Twitter, Facebook and LinkedIn.

2. Set up a weekly or bi-weekly email newsletter to highlight your blog content.

You can bring people back to your website and your blog by building a permission based subscriber list and sending out a regular email newsletter. Encourage website visitors to sign up for your list by offering a free report, resource guide, checklist or other compelling “freebie.” Once they’ve confirmed their email addresses and downloaded your freebie, you can send them regular email newsletters that highlight the content from your blog and encourage them to connect with you on social media.

3. Create social media updates based on your blog content.

If you’re not sure what to post on Twitter, Facebook or LinkedIn, you’ll love this strategy! Rather than trying to come up with compelling content on the fly you can use your blog content as source material for your social media updates. For each blog post, you should create four to six social media updates that give a quick tip related to your content. For example, if I were promoting this blog post on Twitter one of my updates would be “Use social media, blogs and email together for more marketing impact.” Add a link back to your blog so that your followers can click through to get the rest of your content. When they arrive there, they can also sign up for your list – which brings the entire process full circle!

By using these three tools together you can create more visibility for your business and put your solutions in front of the right people consistently and easily.
